An early adopter of all things technological, Ruth was one of the first legislators to tweet from the floor of the Illinois House of Representatives, use Facebook as a constituent outreach tool and send email newsletters to update her district.
Ruth got her start in politics as an Elgin City Councilmember and in 2002, joined the ranks of the Illinois General Assembly as a member of the House of Representatives where she served for six years. Ruth is running in 2010 to regain the 43rd District House legislative seat.
It is no wonder Ruth is a technology power-user, In 1987, Ruth founded EveryWare Inc., and continues to work with her husband, Steve in their software development firm. Ruth is very happy she hired Steve way back in 1994, he just brings out her inner geek.
