Every year, thousands of Illinoisans are victims of fraud when they mistakenly hire unscrupulous contractors for home repair and remodeling work.  The majority of these crimes have been perpetrated against our senior citizens, costing losses of several thousand dollars to households on fixed incomes.  To combat this fraud, the State Legislature enacted the Home Repair and Remodeling Act in January of 2000.  Please use this site to better understand your rights, and avoid becoming a victim.
